Our vision is to bring the awesome life of Christ to lost and broken teenagers. We exist to create a community that fosters and empowers high school students’ spiritual development. Revolution is a safe and sound place for high school students to connect with their peers and adult leaders, talk about real life, and hear about the better life available to them through Jesus.

I think we all have a different image, or picture in our mind when we think of or imagine Jesus…maybe you picture him hanging from the cross because of stained glass windows and weird paintings at Grandma’s house, maybe you picture him as a doctor healing the sick, maybe you picture him as a vigilante working against the government. The same was true for people living 2,000 years ago in the middle east when Jesus walked the earth. As Jesus traveled from town to town we hear him called different names, different characteristics – defender, healer, friend, and King. Each week of this series, we’ll look at a different stop along his journey and the different parts of Jesus’ character and personhood.

Our students are facing battles every single day – battles in their homes, battles at school, battles within themselves. These verses explain that our struggles aren’t just against the physical world, but they are also spiritual. How can we be prepared to face these battles, and what does it practically look like to put on the ‘armor of God’? This series will be based on the armor described in Ephesians 6:10-17.

This series is on forgiveness. What does it really mean? And why is it so hard? Forgiveness changes everything. It changed everything for us when Jesus died on a cross and came back to life three days later. So as we approach Easter, we’ll be talking about what it means to be fully forgiven by God, what it looks like to forgive those who’ve wronged us, and why we would want to do something like that in the first place.

Sometimes, we suffer because we made a mistake and there are natural consequences. Sometimes, we suffer because someone else messed-up and we got caught in the wake of their mistake. Sometimes, we suffer because we live in a broken world where disease and darkness exist. Sometimes, I have no idea why we suffer and there isn’t a good reason at all. Suffering is not one size fits all which confuses us because we want answers for our pain, and an easy formula we can stick God and our suffering into to know we’re going to be okay. But God and suffering doesn’t work like that; however God makes us promises that we can ALWAYS count on.

This series is inspired by Solomon’s regrets as written in the book of Ecclesiastes. We are all spending our life on something, whether it’s fame or possessions or popularity or love. As Solomon looks back on all the ways he wasted his life, he asks the question, “What’s the point to all this? What’s the point of life?” It’s a question we’ve all asked ourselves – in his reflection, Solomon tells us the answer to a meaningful fulfilled life is to fear God and obey his commands. This series will be a final call to taking the leap of faith and trusting Jesus and following his directions for life instead of our own.
