LIA Container Outfitting Trip

Location: Nairobi, Kenya

Trip Details: This trip is designed for those who want to build relationships and see what happens when others are empowered to do things for themselves. It is an opportunity to travel to Kenya with a team to help outfit a shipping container into a library! While there will be aspects of the trip when participants will bring their expertise to a cross-cultural setting, this is not a typical missions trip where participants roll up their sleeves to do the hard work for others. This trip will be an opportunity to work alongside Kenyans as we outfit a shipping container into a library for LIA. However, your primary role is a learner, an ambassador and an encourager.

WHO: Those with skilled backgrounds or interest in electrical, plumbing, welding, construction, and mechanical experience, as well as those interested in working with their hands are encouraged to apply. All participants should come with a curiosity to learn about who LIA is and how they partner with local communities, feel strongly about encouraging the role local community leaders play, have a willingness to be led by field staff, a heart to teach but also to learn, and have a passion to discover how a cross-cultural experience might impact their lives at home. Above all else, participants should have a strong desire to exemplify Jesus in all they do.
