Trip Details: Help Build a Library & Empower Communities in Kenya

This unique trip is for those who want to build meaningful relationships and witness the power of sustainable change. Travel with a team to Kenya and work alongside local leaders to transform a shipping container into a fully functional library for LIA (Life in Abundance)—a project that will provide lasting educational resources for the community.

While you’ll contribute your expertise in a cross-cultural setting, this is not a typical mission trip where you do the work for others. Instead, you’ll partner with Kenyan leaders, learning from them and supporting their vision for long-term impact.

Beyond the project itself, this trip is an opportunity to grow as a learner, an ambassador, and an encourager, gaining new insights into how empowerment leads to real transformation.

WHO: Those with skilled backgrounds or interest in electrical, plumbing, welding, construction, and mechanical experience, as well as those interested in working with their hands are encouraged to apply. All participants should come with a curiosity to learn about who LIA is and how they partner with local communities, feel strongly about encouraging the role local community leaders play, have a willingness to be led by field staff, a heart to teach but also to learn, and have a passion to discover how a cross-cultural experience might impact their lives at home. Above all else, participants should have a strong desire to exemplify Jesus in all they do.

Cost: $3,250 (We have a team of people to help walk you through best practices for fundraising)
