What To Expect: Make a Lasting Impact—Join a Transformational Medical Mission to South Sudan

This unique opportunity is for those who are passionate about both medical outreach and sustainable community transformation. Travel to South Sudan and work alongside LIA’s dedicated network of medical staff and community leaders, forming relationships built on encouragement, support, and shared purpose.

As part of this hands-on experience, you’ll assist LIA’s medical outreach partner in basic medical screening and specialty case identification, gaining firsthand insight into healthcare challenges in one of the world’s most overlooked regions. Beyond the medical work, you’ll engage in a multi-faceted cultural experience, learning how social and economic factors shape the local church’s outreach efforts.

Through this journey, you’ll not only deepen your understanding of LIA’s innovative empowerment model, but you’ll also become an advocate for its mission—helping to bridge the gap between church partnerships and real-world impact. This is more than just a trip; it’s a chance to step into God’s calling, use your expertise in a high-intensity setting, and be part of something truly life-changing.

Spots are limited—join the team today and be part of the transformation!

WHO: This team will be comprised mostly of individuals with a strong level of personal and spiritual maturity, international travel experience in extreme environments, and demonstrated openness to considering the implications and differences in cross-cultural medicine. Those with an active certification (must be able to provide a copy of valid certification/license) in general/family practice, trauma/emergency/field medicine, maternal/female health, pediatrics, and eye specialists are encouraged to apply. In addition to medical expertise, participants should come with a curiosity to learn about who LIA is and how they partner with local communities, feel strongly about encouraging the role local community leaders play, have a willingness to be led by field staff, a heart to teach but also to learn, have a passion to discover what third-world medicine might have to teach Western medicine, and a strong desire to exemplify Jesus in all they do.

Cost: $3,700 (We have a team of people to help walk you through best practices for fundraising)
