Faith Means Move - Week 2
January 29, 2023 | By Jim Burgen

// Community Question
Describe a time where we moved forward with something when we did not know the outcome. Was it exciting, terrifying, or both? How did it turn out?
// Discussion Questions
- Read Genesis 12:1-7 According to this passage childless Abram was given a promise of many decedents by God (whom he just met) if he would move to an unknown place for an unspecified amount of time. What would we do if we were in Abram’s place?
- Why do you think Abraham said yes to following God into the unknown?
- Read 1 Peter 1:3-4 According to this passage what is the only thing that will last?
- Jim used the story of Abraham to demonstrate that faith only grows when we move from where we currently are. Why does this feel risky?
- What is the primary thing we have orientated our life around and have faith in, that makes us feel safe, secure, and happy?
- Read Romans 8:32 If we serve a God who has proven His love and commitment to us by giving up his Son for us, what stands in our way of trusting more of our lives to Him?
// Challenge:
What is one area of your life the Spirit of God is wanting you to let go of and trust Him with? What would it look like to move by faith from where you are right now in the direction God is commanding you to go?
