Hey God I Have A question...

Is Jesus Coming Back?

February 9, 2025 | By Jim Burgen

Is Jesus really coming back? And if so, when? The Bible is clear—Jesus will return, but the exact timing remains unknown. Instead of getting caught up in predictions, the real question is: are you ready? This message breaks down what Scripture says about the signs of the times, the return of Christ, and what happens next. Whether you’re skeptical, curious, or full of questions, this is a conversation you don’t want to miss. So, if Jesus came back tomorrow, how would that change how you live today?

// Discussion Questions

  1. Jim mentioned that many people have mixed feelings and uncertainties about what the Second Coming means for them. Why do you think many people feel nervous or unsure about the Second Coming of Jesus? How can understanding the messages from the Bible about Jesus' return help alleviate those feelings?
  2. What does Jim mean when he says that the return of Christ is imminent, and nothing needs to happen before He comes back? This suggests that Jesus could return at any moment and emphasizes the urgency of being ready. How does this idea change the way you approach your relationships and responsibilities?
  3. The sermon discusses different responses people have to Jesus' return, including disbelief. What are some reasons people might not believe that Jesus is coming back, and how can we help address those doubts? Have you ever had doubts about your faith? How did you work through those doubts?
  4. Jim mentions that many people are apathetic simply because they didn't know much about the Second Coming. Why do you think some individuals are apathetic about the Second Coming, and how can learning more about it change their perspective? What is one topic about your faith that you would like to learn more about, and how could that knowledge deepen your relationship with God?
  5. Jim mentions that another response to the idea of Jesus’ return is fear. Fear that you and people you care deeply about will be left behind. Jim encouraged us to address that fear by putting our faith in Jesus to save us and communicating the love of Christ to someone we care about. What step do you feel God is asking you to take this week? Is it an initial step of personal faith? Or is it scheduling a time to tell that friend or family member about the love of Christ?

// Challenge: Jim’s reminded us that no one knows the day of Christ’s return, but the Bible challenges us to be ready for the Second Coming of Christ by having a relationship with Him, and being willing to share Christ with others. Who in your life needs to hear about the love of Jesus this week?
