// Discussion Questions

  1. Pillar #2 in this series focuses on the importance of trusting Jesus and emphasizes that knowing God is closely tied to this trust. What does it mean to 'Trust Jesus' in your everyday life, and how can you practice this trust? Can you think of a recent situation where you had to have trust and faith in Jesus? How did that experience affect your overall trust in Him?
  2. Read Romans 3:23. 'For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God'. This verse highlights that everyone has sinned, emphasizing our shared need for Jesus. How does this verse help us understand the concept of sin? How can recognizing that everyone's sins affect the way you treat others and view yourself?
  3. Read Eph 2:8-9. The sermon stresses that salvation is not based on our efforts but is a free gift from God through Jesus, and Jesus paid our debt of sin. Why is it important to understand that salvation is a gift rather than something we earn? How does viewing salvation as a gift change your perspective on your relationship with God?
  4. The sermon emphasizes that God's love and grace are offered to us even in our worst moments. How does understanding that God loves us 'while we were still sinners' change the way we approach our own sinfulness? In what ways can you extend grace and love to others, knowing that God loved you despite your flaws?
  5. The sermon highlights that articulating your beliefs can make a significant impact on others who may be struggling with pain or questions about God. Why is it vital to be able to explain your faith in Jesus to others? Have you ever had a conversation where someone asked you about your faith? How did it go, and what did you learn from that experience?

// Challenge: Jim challenged us to be able to articulate what we believe about God and Jesus, and why we are a Christian. If comfortable, share with the group your answer.
