// Community Question: What does unity within a group of people look, sound, or feel like?

// Discussion Questions

1.     Read John 14:6. Jesus states in this verse, 'I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.' Jim discusses how this statement is exclusive and asserts that belief in Jesus is the only way to have a relationship with God. What do you think this means about other religions or beliefs? Have you ever faced a situation where your beliefs about Jesus differed from someone else's beliefs? How did you handle it?

2.     Jim highlights how Zacchaeus, a disliked tax collector, sought Jesus and how Jesus showed compassion and love towards him. What does the story of Zacchaeus teach us about Jesus’s mission to seek and save the lost? Who are the 'Zacchaeus' in your life? How can you show them the love of Jesus?

3.    Read Matt 16:18. Jim explains that the mission of the church is to seek and save the lost and break down the barriers that keep people from God. Jim pointed out the 'gates of Hell' are a defensive barrier that will not prevail against the church. How can we interpret this in our lives today? Are there any barriers in your life or community that you can identify? How could you help break them down?

4.     Jim emphasizes the role of the church in addressing real-world issues facing families and individuals. Why is it important for the church to adapt to the needs of the community to bring hope and healing? What needs do you see in your community that you think the church could address? How can you be part of that effort?

5.     The sermon emphasizes the importance of the church's mission to reach lost and broken people and how we should all work together toward this goal. What does it mean to be 'United in Mission' as a church and in our personal lives? How can you contribute to being united in mission in your own life, at school or with friends?

// Challenge: Jim challenged us in the sermon to find a place in the church to serve, start giving, and start inviting people. Of the three challenges, which one do you feel God is asking you to accept? What are some practical steps you can take this week towards accepting that challenge?
